I bought Abby these adorable sandals a couple days ago (a whole size bigger than the sneakers she's been wearing. Oops!), and she wants to wear them All. The. Time! She's wearing socks because we hadn't been up very long before she brought one over for me to put on her, so I just took her footie jammies off to put them on.
The weather is perfect today, so we went up to the zoo. Damon and I couldn't sleep last night because we were so excited to take Abby to the zoo. It's only about 10 minutes from where we're staying, so we bought a family membership so we can go anytime we want. It's the only mountain zoo in the country. It's literally about halfway up Cheyenne Mountain, so the views were amazing.
We bought that hat in the gift shop in the entrance. She took it right off once past the giraffes and I never could get it to stay on again.
For $1 you can buy 4 "giraffe crackers" to feed the giraffes, so they're not shy about coming right up to you.
The first couple were still on my camera from the old house. Abby eating Cheerios.
Damon's Grandma Wava made these two blankets for Damon's future children long before he was ready for babies. They're the perfect size and weight, so one of them is always in Abby's crib with her. Lately, she's been carrying at least one of them around with her all over the house. She'll pick it up and cuddle it like she does Po. She has both of them in the living room with her today because she immediately grabs the one in her crib when I go in to get her.
We're all doing well. When we first walked in the door, the first thing Abby saw was the coffee table. I have never seen someone so happy to see a piece of furniture! She settled back into her routine pretty quickly. In fact, she adjusted to Mountain Time on the way here, so we just had to deal with Daylight Savings Time, but that went smoothly too. The second day on the road was better than the first. She did get fussy right away, but at least she was entertainable. She did really well the third day. She even took a nap in the car without a fight. She was feeling so out of sorts, though, in the hotel rooms that neither of us could leave her side. If either Damon or I left the room for any reason, she became inconsolable. She's doing so much better now. She hasn't even been crying when Damon goes to work in the mornings.
